OUR STORY
Marquise Construction was established 12 years ago with the dream of creating a construction company that would do things differently, strategically placing value on creativity, excellence in craftsmanship, while creating a process that simplified building for our clients.
Since 2009, we have been collaborating with clients to create distinctive and memorable spaces – bringing their dreams to reality. We specialize in large residential and commercial renovations as well as new commercial building. Our primary area of service is Eastern Ontario, focused from Cobourg to Kingston and stretching south to Prince Edward County.
MATTHEW O'COIN
President and Owner, Matthew O’Coin, was trained from a young age in the art of construction. A fourth generation craftsman, he pursued the family trade as a Red Seal Carpenter following the completion of business studies at St. Lawrence College. Matt is an entrepreneur at heart and because he has grown Marquise to be the company it is today, he understands and works well with local artisans, entrepreneurs and business people as they grow their own businesses.
Matt has an unconventional creative edge and eye for detail, both are assets when looking to create memorable buildings and exceptional homes. His solution oriented management style brings peace and order to otherwise complicated building projects, ensuring our clients do not become overwhelmed but stay engaged through effective communication and collaboration.
KRISTEN O'COIN
Partner and Vice President, Kristen O’Coin completed her Bachelor of Arts Honours at Queen’s University and began her career at a corporate consulting company. There she was responsible for working with the team to develop strategic plans for small businesses and working with them to systematically achieve their goals. Kristen has worked with Matt through the years in varying roles and can now be found managing marketing, team development and organization administration.
As a family, the O’Coins are passionate about giving generously, and Marquise Construction is involved in supporting numerous non-profit organizations locally and abroad. Watch for updates and the development of our philanthropic projects on our social media channels!

Clarity in pricing, project management and scheduling – It’s not only part of our management process, but also one of our values, to provide you with a clear, specific project plan, proposal and detailed budget. Once approved, this budget only changes through mutual consent of Marquise and our client. We realistically plan your project, with estimated dates that are achievable, not making promises we cannot keep.
